586For some reason I feel like I am NOT allowed to complain about the hot weather in the UK. I mean it’s a gorgeous country although not always sunny and warm the general consensus is just get on with life and be grateful for the hot weather when we have it! I finally gave up complaining about the rain many years ago because England boasts the most beautiful gardens and the lushest landscapes around. Still I laugh at the self inflicted sense of guilt I feel whenever I make a comment about the summer heat and how hot it actually is so here’s to feeling guilty! 20735A few weeks ago I was contacted about a bridal makeup collaboration and tutorial by the wonderful @claudianeacsu Loving her work I said, “Sure as the mother of the bride right?” To which her reply was , “No, you are the bride!” My jaw dropped because no one has ever asked me at my age to model as the Bride. I absolutely loved the idea of Claudia thinking outside the box and it got me pondering on the subject of marriage later in life. Society has conditioned us to believe that love is not eternal, is limited and after a certain age is impossible. Love and marriage are not solely reserved for the young and love can happen at any age! Marriage is sacred and even though sadly my marriage didn’t work out it never shattered my understanding of the true meaning of marriage. The blessed uniting of a man and a woman by God who while retaining their own identities come together as one body rooted deep in mutual love, respect and commitment. A commitment to plant seeds of love and to be a blessing to others. A marriage is made up of that kind of special love that becomes a haven where time stops. I feel so blessed and flattered to be chosen as a Later-in-Life Bride for this upcoming tutorial by @claudianeacsu and I hope that older women will be inspired and believe love can be found at any age. Because it can 💕 and yes you can wear a beautiful flowing white gown and veil no matter how old you are! Would love to hear your comments on love being timeless!
