549NOTHING CHANGES IF NOBODY CHANGES I support the people of Persia, a country rich in history and culture with a people that are courageously defying tyranny. My stance is not political nor religious, but has to do with the suffering of human beings. As a Christian I have been and will be vocal about the suffering of any human being irrespective of race, religion or political background. It’s pretty clear in Iran it’s about catastrophic human suffering and a regime of great tyranny. Where is the condemnation from the activists, the feminists, celebrities, the media, the governments, NGOs? I want you to imagine for one moment that it could be you, your brother, your sister, mom, dad, aunties, uncles, best friends in Iran right now fighting for their lives. The reality is it’s not you or any of your loved ones. God created us in his image as sovereign human beings and no person, government institution or religion has the right to destroy another human life. Life is meant to be a gift and blessing from God not a man created hell on earth for the innocent. STOP THE SILENCE and SPEAK OUT AGAINST HUMAN SUFFERING. 4511Remorse is an indication that our moral compass is working. There was a time when I felt like I moved on from the past when I actually hadn’t. I just did the best that I could to try to bury the heartache, frustration, regret by just getting on with life without processing any of it until it hit me like a brick wall many years later. I sought forgiveness from God, but somehow unknowingly my subconscious held on to the remorse. I hadn’t forgiven myself, but when I did it felt like such a heavy burden had been lifted and tossed away. As women we adapt to many roles and are many things to many people. I do believe we can be inclined to feel an overwhelming responsibility to make everything and everyone alright which is an unachievable standard. When trying to fix everything for everyone and it doesn’t work out to plan then sometimes our remorse can be misguided. Remorse can be influenced by our current circumstances, past experiences, morals and values we grew up with. Remorse also has to be checked and I do not refer to obvious remorse for obvious acts. I think we all agree on that and that’s why it’s so important to seek God and sit with it to determine if remorse is warranted. If it is then the moment you take accountability and seek forgiveness from God, from others if possible and from yourself is the moment of true liberation. You will feel the peace of Christ which supersedes all human comprehension. Sometimes others may not be accessible for you to seek forgiveness. Maybe others won’t forgive you and that’s ok too, but with an earnest heart you have sought forgiveness from God and that’s all that matters. God knows your heart. Then it’s time to forgive yourself. 14524Genuine kindness should never be taken for granted nor perceived to be weakness. We live in a culture where kindness is often seen as vulnerable and dispensable. But kindness is patient, supportive, not just polite. it is honest in a way that builds not tears down. Nor is it jealous or envious because it is in itself contentment. Kindness does not use the past and rekindle it as a weapon and can tolerate for a long time, but if not valued it does have an expiration date. That expiration date is not retribution for kindness forgives and can never stop being kind and caring, but in its caring it quietly and silently removes itself from the situation. Kindness finally recognises its true identity and value. It realises that it can expire for others who reject it, but never in itself for it will always create more kindness from its never ending source which is God. Never underestimate kindness.
